Nicklas Jensen, the 29th overall pick in the 2011 draft, is headed to the AHL.
With AIK Stockholm’s season over, Vancouver’s power forward prospect has been assigned to the Chicago Wolves.
Jensen, from Denmark, had a team-leading 17 goals and six assists in 50 SEL games in 2012-13. He played briefly for the Wolves last year, scoring four goals in six regular-season games and two goals in two playoff contests before getting hurt (concussion).
Could Jensen, 20, be wearing a Canucks uniform sometime this season? It seems like a long shot, but if he can put the puck in the net down on the farm, you never know.
