Rangers’ Del Zotto (hip) misses Saturday’s game

The New York Rangers were already limping into Saturday’s game against the Canadiens in Montreal without Rick Nash, but it turns out Michael Del Zotto isn’t playing either, according to Ranger Rants.

The 24-year-old defenseman was walking around with a noticeable limp after Thursday’s loss against the Ottawa Senators. New York Newsday indicates that he’s dealing with a hip injury.

Del Zotto has seven points in 16 games this season, although he’s been ice cold lately, with just an assist in his last 10 contests.

It’s not all bad news for the struggling Rangers, however. There was a chance Marc Staal might have missed tonight’s game because of flu-like symptoms, but he opted to fight through them.
