Habs squeak by Senators after controversial disallowed goal

The Montreal Canadiens edged the Ottawa Senators in a 2-1 win between two hot Northeast Division teams, but many couldn’t shake the impact of this controversial disallowed goal:

Jakob Silfverberg ended up getting one by Carey Price in the game, but it wasn’t enough.

After the game, both coaches had interesting reactions to the call. Montreal Canadiens head coach Michel Therrien took the coy approach, which RDS’ Renaud Lavoie captured.

Ottawa Senators bench boss Paul MacLean clearly wasn’t amused. In fact, he provided no reaction other than a blank stare, as you can see from this video via Senators Extra.

Some believe that the disallowed goal indicates that the NHL needs to expand its goal review policies, possibly even surveying all scores (like the NFL began doing this season). Do you think that would be worth it or would that be going too far?

Note: in other interesting news from that game, Max Pacioretty collected an assist in his return from an emergency appendectomy.
