Tim Thomas’ self-imposed exile from hockey won’t be coming to an end now that the lockout is over.
TSN’s Bob McKenzie tweeted an update on the soon-to-be former Bruins netminder and says he’s more than happy at his Colorado homestead.
The Bruins will have to find a way to free up the roster space and his cap space this season, and depending how teams shape up once camps get under way, they might be in luck.
Thomas waived his no-movement clause over the summer meaning his cap hit could be acquired by a team in need of reaching the salary floor, but if they’re expecting him to suit up they’ll be left disappointed. If Thomas can still be moved easily, the Bruins would likely do it should they need the cap space.
