Though there’s been nothing official from the NHL or NHLPA, today’s news that the league has provided the union with a new CBA proposal has garnered a few interesting tidbits:
Here’s Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News:
I'm hearing NHL has targeted Jan. 19 as potential start date. Would like week-long camp. Wants this deal done by Jan. 10, 11.

That tweet was supported by the Ottawa Sun’s Bruce Garrioch:
A league source said the NHL wants camps to open Jan. 12th

Garrioch also had this:
My sources say owners have privately informed Bettman cancelling the season is not an acceptable option.

James Mirtle of the Globe and Mail reports on the next step for the PA:
NHLPA will have a conference call today with players. Those not on negotiating committee a bit in dark right now.

Talking to players, most haven't heard about NHL's new offer yet. Wonder how (and to who) it was made?

More details are sure to emerge as the day progresses, so keep checking back.
Hopefully this all leads to something. It’s hard to imagine the players accepting this proposal in its entirety, which begs the question: How much further is the NHL willing to move?
