The NHL and NHLPA have requested an adjournment of Thursday’s Quebec Labour Board hearing in order to continue CBA negotiations, according to Chris Johnston of the Canadian Press.
The players’ association has been arguing in front of provincial labor boards that the lockout should be declared illegal. The hearings have incensed the league, which has deemed them a waste of time and antagonistic.
The two sides have yet to receive a reply to their request, but it’s hard to imagine the board standing in the way of a mutual resolution.
Update (12:49 p.m. ET):
I'm told the Quebec labour board has granted the adjournement request from NHL and NHLPA. Meetings won't be held this week.
