Injuries are a legitimate threat for any player working overseas during the lockout, something Teuvo Teräväinen and Cory Emmerton realized by breaking their fingers in Finland.*

Chicago Blackhawks prospect Teräväinen could miss four weeks of action thanks to his injury, Elite Prospects’ Matias Strozyk reports.

Strozyk points out that Teräväinen’s team Jokerit is dealing with quite the injury hex overall this season, with 11 players banged up.

Meanwhile, Detroit Red Wings youngster Emmerton’s broken finger could warrant surgery, sidelining him for up to two months according to the Detroit News.

Emmerton tried to find the humor in the situation with this Twitter blurb:

*- PHT shudders to think of the possible finger/Finland jokes that might result.
