The Los Angeles Kings honored the memory of scouts Ace Bailey and Mark Bavis by bringing the Stanley Cup to the Sept. 11 memorial museum in New York City on Sunday.
Bailey and Bavis were on one of the planes (United Flight 175) that crashed into the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001. The Cup was positioned next to where their names were engraved on the memorial, The Los Angeles Times’ Helene Elliott reports.
Both this post’s main image and this photo of the late scouts’ family members come from Philip “Keeper of the Cup” Pritchard’s Twitter page.

If you want a little more background on that moving gesture from the Kings, Elliott’s report features a brief write-up.
