Well, at least standards for drug testing are nearly settled

Aside from giving the two sides another chance to bicker, one might wonder if the latest set of CBA meetings actually accomplished anything.

RDS’ Renaud P. Lavoie has some “good news": the issue of drug testing is just about settled.

While that’s not quite a hot-button issue in hockey like it is in sports like baseball, it’s at least a sign that the two sides might occasionally break from rhetoric to discuss matters.

Of course, it doesn’t mean a whole lot when one of the NHLPA’s top executives admits that all inessential matters could be settled in mere hours if the big issues clear up.
