Report: Voracek suffers knee sprain in KHL game

One of the dangers of players going overseas during the lockout is the possibility of getting injured and hurting their NHL futures and Philadelphia’s Jakub Voracek is the latest to have a scare.’s Tim Panaccio reports Voracek suffered a knee injury in Lev Praha’s game against SKA in the KHL. As of now the Flyers have no details on the injury but his agent, Petr Svoboda, tells it’s a knee sprain that will put him out for a week.

The Flyers signed Voracek to a four-year, $17 million deal this summer to keep him locked in with the club. Safe to say an injury in a game that doesn’t involve the Flyers won’t make the team very happy.

Voracek joins Jiri Hudler and Rick Nash as injury casualties so far this season abroad with Hudler already come back to North America because of it.
