League and players plan two additional days of meetings

Bettman and Fehr

Starting Friday, the NHL and NHLPA have set aside three days for CBA negotiations, reports Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Deputy commissioner Bill Daly has confirmed the report.

Earlier in the week, it was learned that the league and players would meet Friday in New York to discuss non-core economic issues after failing to substantially close the gap on how to divvy up the league’s hockey-related revenue.

The two additional days is news. And according to Russo, the players are encouraged by it.

Fingers will be crossed that progress is made during this upcoming stretch of negotiations, otherwise it’s possible the two sides may not meet again for some time.
