Yesterday, Barclays chief executive Brett Yormark told Newsday they “remain very interested” in housing the club once its lease runs out at the dilapidated Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in 2015.
But could it actually happen if a new rink can’t be built in Nassau?
NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly told Newsday that moving the Isles to Brooklyn is “an intriguing possibility. But there’s a lot of road between here and there.”
The Barclays Center isn’t an ideal option by any means. Its seating capacity for hockey is just 14,500, which would make it the smallest in the NHL.
