If you’re a Nashville fan feeling let down by Ryan Suter’s decision to play for the Minnesota Wild, he wants you to know he didn’t mean to cause you any pain.

That’s what Suter tells Joshua Cooper of The Tennessean following in the wake of a tumultuous time that saw Nashville GM David Poile on a couple of occasions let his feelings known about the way things played out in free agency.

Suter says there was no harm meant in his decision.

“I have never tried to hide anything from anybody,” Suter said. “I wanted it to work in Nashville, but the decision I made was to move on, and I’m sorry for the hurt that it has brought to David Poile and to the Predators.”

Suter also says “there was no agenda” to signing with the Wild and “it’s just how things played out.” Obviously fans in Nashville aren’t going to see things the same way and perhaps one day Poile will feel bad about venting the way he did, but hurt feelings happen sometimes. Here’s to hoping the fans aren’t too vicious to him on December 1 when the two teams meet up in Tennessee.
