Norfolk Admirals win Calder Cup as AHL champions

This time around there would be no funny business. After seeing a fluke goal that shouldn’t have been a goal win Game 3 for the Norfolk Admirals, they made no mistake about Game 4 taking out the Toronto Marlies 6-1 to complete a four-game sweep to win the Calder Cup.

The Tampa Bay farm team was led by Lightning prospect defenseman Mike Kostka, he of the wacky goal in Game 3, with two more goals in Game 4. Dustin Tokarski led the way in goal as he made 18 saves in what ultimately turned into a blowout.

The Calder Cup championship is the first one for the Lightning organization and with a team with upcoming talent like AHL MVP Cory Conacher, Harvard prospect Alex Killorn, Richard Panik, and defenseman Radko Gudas, Lightning GM Steve Yzerman has a lot to be hopeful for.
