Senators’ Silfverberg makes his NHL debut in Game 6

Jakob-Silfverberg

We mentioned earlier that Jakob Silfverberg might make his NHL debut tonight. Well now we know for sure: he’s in.

Silfverberg is one of the Senators’ top prospects and the winner of the Swedish Elite League’s most valuable player award. He also led the Swedish Elite League in playoff scoring before joining Ottawa.

He practiced on a line with Milan Michalek and Jason Spezza, so Silfverberg might get some important minutes Monday night.

Sportsnet’s Ian Mendes also pointed out that Silfverberg is the third player to make his NHL debut in this series. The other two are Chris Kreider and Mark Stone.

In a game that was already critical for both Ottawa and the New York Rangers, Silfverberg’s debut will add yet another layer of intrigue.
