Upset at the long gap in Kings-Canucks series? Blame Coldplay!

Canucks Kings

The Vancouver Canucks earned a 3-1 victory against the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday to stave off elimination and extend their series to…Sunday? Yes, the Vancouver-Los Angeles series includes three consecutive off-days right in the middle of it.

“I thought two days between the last two games was too much,” Kings coach Darryl Sutter complained, referring to the gap between Game 3 on April 15 and Game 4 on April 18.

So what evil power has gotten in the way of the Canucks-Kings series? Coldplay.

They have delayed the Kings chance of beating the Canucks and tasting the Paradise of winning their series by hosting a concert at the Rogers Arena on Saturday.

“It means we’ll have to answer questions from the media for a few more days,” Los Angeles’ Dustin Brown said with a shrug, “but it also gives us more time to prepare.”

That might benefit the Kings after their struggles to beat Cory Schneider on Wednesday. Los Angeles got 44 shots on goal, but only Anze Kopitar managed to get the puck past Schneider.
