Just to follow up on an earlier report, Daniel Sedin did indeed practice today in Vancouver, two days before Game 1 of the Canucks-Kings series.
While Daniel didn’t address the media afterwards, his brother, Henrik, indicated all was well.
“He’s 100 percent,” said Henrik. ”It was good to see him out there. It’s been a while. He looks good. We’re happy. If he wouldn’t have been out there today, he would have been a real long shot for Wednesday. That’s a good sign.”
When asked if he was worried the Kings would target Daniel after missing nine games with a concussion, Henrik said it wasn’t an issue – “They say it’s no different for him than for me taking a hit.”
Of course, coach Alain Vigneault was predictably evasive about Daniel’s status for Wednesday’s series opener.
“That is not going to be my decision, it’s going to be a medical decision,” he said. “He skated today for the first time with his teammates and we’ll see how he is doing tomorrow and we’ll take it from there.”
