Bruins GM calls Horton a “long shot” to return

Although Nathan Horton was on the ice earlier this week, it looks like the Bruins are still not optimistic about his chances of returning before the end of the playoffs.

Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli said that he wouldn’t rule it out, but added, “I think it’s a long shot.” Horton sustained a concussion during the 2011 Stanley Cup finals. He played in 46 games this season before suffering what was initially described as a mild concussion.

On a more positive note, backup goaltender Tuukka Rask is now a bit better than day-to-day, according to Chiarelli. Rask has been great this season, but he hasn’t played since March 3 due to an abdominal/groin injury.

The Boston Bruins will open up their series against the Washington Capitals at 7:30pm ET on Thursday April 12.
