These might be Milan Hejduk’s final games

Colorado’s chances of making the playoffs are slim at best, which means these next three games might be the last of Milan Hejduk’s career. The 36-year-old is the only remaining player on the Avalanche roster from the 2001 Stanley Cup winning team. He’s also second on the team’s all-time list in games played and fourth in points. However, his streak of 11 straight 20 or more goal seasons is coming to an end and he played on the fourth line Wednesday. He might be slowing down and Hejduk admitted that this might be it for him.

“It could be. I don’t want to analyze right now, but it definitely could be,” Hejduk said.

Hejduk, who has never played for another NHL squad, is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer. In addition to winning a Stanley Cup, Hejduk is a former Rocket Richard Trophy winner and was a finalist for the Calder Trophy. If he decides to come back for the 2012-13 campaign, he could reach the 1,000 game milestone.
