It’s official: Alexander Radulov is a Predator

After all the Twitter stalking and airplane tracking, it’s official: Alexander Radulov is officially back with the Nashville Predators.

Preds GM David Poile re-introduced Radulov to the media in Nashville this morning ahead of the team’s practice and he couldn’t be more excited about bringing the KHL’s leading scorer and former top prospect back to town.

“Adding the best player in the world not currently in the National Hockey League can only help the Nashville Predators,” Poile said. “Alex is a terrific talent and a proven goal-scorer who will now have a chance to help the Predators and play against the best teams and players in the world. We always believed he would return. We welcome him back and look forward to his contributions.”

Radulov’s return to the Predators now has fans wondering just how coach Barry Trotz is going to juggle his lines. Adding someone of Radulov’s ability to a team that’s already successful means someone is going to have sit out.

Tom Callahan of the Predators’ website takes a look at what he thinks Trotz will do with his forward unit and sees Radulov potentially starting out on the team’s top line with Mike Fisher and Martin Erat. While the Predators might not have superstar forward talent, throwing three lines of second-line type of players will give teams fits on how to defend them and that’s just how Barry Trotz wants it to be.
