Boston Bruins are Greg Zanon’s kind of team

The beauty and frustration of trades come in the fact that the transitions are rarely as seamless as they’d seem on paper. (Want proof? Gander at the bizarre Lamar Odom situation with the Dallas Mavericks.)

With that in mind, feel free to take this assessment with a grain of salt, but Greg Zanon and the Boston Bruins seems like as simple a fit as one could ask for. The shot-blocking defenseman more or less concurred with that sentiment in this article by CSNNE.com’s Danny Picard.

“It’s my style of hockey,” Zanon said. “They play that tough style. They like to get up and down the ice. Good ‘D’ zone, a good defensive team. It’s just the way I play my game, so hopefully I can fit in nicely when I get into the lineup.”

I’ll say it again: he needs to start a running wager with fellow puck-absorbing blueliner Dennis Seidenberg for the team lead in blocked shots.

(Zanon would probably just say something like “I’m just trying to avoid being a healthy scratch, though.” The scamp.)
