The Boston Bruins used a little bit of their cap space to add some blueline depth during the trade deadline, as they acquired defenseman Greg Zanon from the Minnesota Wild. Zanon comes at the cost of Steven Kampfer.

Zanon’s greatest “strength” is in shot-blocking, which means he might just have a running bet with Dennis “Pain Sponge” Seidenberg to lead the Bruins in that category. (Also, they’ll go toe-to-toe in “ornate bruises.”)

He won’t make many beautiful plays, but Zanon’s the kind of guy who should fit right in with Claude Julien’s system. The 31-year-old blueliner is an unrestricted free agent this summer.
