Video: Cogliano ties game with a controversial goal


Things finally seemed to be going right for the Chicago Blackhawks. Patrick Kane netted a power-play goal to give them an early 1-0 lead over the Anaheim Ducks and end a dreadful 0-for-39 streak with the man advantage. Then, with just 20 seconds left in the first period, Andrew Cogliano tied the game thanks to a questionable goal. You can see it for yourself below:

It took roughly five minutes before the NHL finally decided to allow the goal, but it’s hard to tell if he kicked it in or if he got his stick on the puck after it hit his skate. The puck’s speed and direction changed as it went into the net, which is probably why the NHL ultimately ruled in the Ducks’ favor, but we doubt this will sit well with Blackhawks fans.
