Watch Evgeni Malkin’s Mario Lemieux-like goal of the year candidate

Tampa Bay Lightning v Pittsburgh Penguins

PITTSBURGH, PA - FEBRUARY 25: Evgeni Malkin #71 of the Pittsburgh Penguins begins his celebration as goaltender Dwayne Roloson #30 of the Tampa Bay Lightning unsuccessfully tries to control a shot from Chris Kunitz #14 of the Pittsburgh Penguins for the Penguins first goal in the first period on February 25, 2012 at CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Evgeni Malkin is putting in one of the best seasons in the NHL this year and now Dwayne Roloson and Brett Clark can give you a first-hand tale about just how good it is.

During Pittsburgh’s 8-1 thrashing of Tampa Bay, not only did Malkin score a hat trick his second goal was one that we’ll be talking about the rest of the way after dancing through the Lightning defense including a move past Clark that left him wondering just where Malkin went to. Roloson, who allowed all eight tallies, was helpless to stop Malkin whose move brought back memories of Mario Lemieux.

Consider the hat trick revenge for Malkin who was jumped on earlier in the game by Roloson during a goal mouth scrum. For now, just sit back in amazement at the moves of Dancin’ Geno.
