The Vancouver Grizzlies feel the Blue Jackets’ pain

Vancouver Grizzlies

Given what happened last night in Los Angeles, it’s interesting to note the Blue Jackets aren’t the first terrible team to have complained about a so-called clock malfunction at the Staples Center.

Here’s part of an Associated Press article from January of 2001:

The Lakers’ 113-112 overtime victory over the Vancouver Grizzlies on Jan. 11 was upheld by the NBA despite the Grizzlies’ protest. The Grizzlies argued that a clock malfunction gave the Lakers an extra three-tenths of a second, allowing [Shaquille] O’Neal to make the deciding basket.

In a related story, the Staples Center has changed its name to the Dirty Stinking Cheaters Center.
