Coming into Wednesday night’s action, Lars Eller had four goals on the season for the Montreal Canadiens. The highlight of that quad-trick has to be this spin-o-rama penalty shot tally:

This was Eller’s first hat trick with that brilliant cherry on top. He out-scored the Winnipeg Jets 4-3 while the Habs piled on three more to make it 7-3. Eller also recorded an assist to give himself a five-point night overall, bumping his season total from 12 to 17.

All around the hockey world, one can only imagine all of the “Great Dane” headlines, although I have to admit that my mind immediately jumped to his first name, as it evokes Napster-suing Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich and the weird Ryan Gosling idea movie “Lars and the Real Girl.” (To each his own pun, I guess.)
