Ovechkin, Capitals show some life against Ottawa


Dale Hunter’s reign as the new head coach of the Washington Capitals started off shaky, but if there’s one thing he succeeds at, it’s beating the Ottawa Senators. The Caps defeated the Sens 5-3 to give Hunter a 2-3 record that would look a lot worse if he wasn’t 2-0 against Ottawa. The best part might be that it was a collective scoring effort, including Nicklas Backstrom scoring his 10th goal of the season and Alex Ovechkin notching number nine.

Capitals fans – and likely fans of the sport in general – would love to see more of that Ovechkin. It’s just one goal, but a breakthrough must start somewhere, so why not there?
