The Sedin twins’ reign of terror over the NHL almost never came to be. While Henrik Sedin and Daniel Sedin have been running wild across the league for the last ten seasons, it took crafty trading from former Canucks GM Brian Burke to even make it possible for them to be teammates in Vancouver.

During the 1999 NHL draft, Burke traded like a mad man with the Lightning, Blackhawks, and Thrashers to ensure he could draft both Henrik and Daniel to have them play together in the NHL the way they always hoped and dreamed they would. Burke’s gutsy played has helped take the Canucks from the basement of the Western Conference and given them two cornerstone superstars that have helped the Canucks to the top of the NHL today.
