Tonight’s starting goalies – March 16

Whether you’re interested for fantasy hockey reasons or just want to know which goalie your team is playing in a given day, we thought it might be helpful to share our best guesses (based on various previews from newspapers and Web sites plus our own instincts) on who might start each day.

Toronto @ Carolina – 7 p.m. ET

Toronto’s starter: James Reimer will get the start tonight. It was thought that Jean-Sebastien Giguere might go, but he will not. Reimer or bust for the playoff hopeful Leafs. (Source)

Carolina’s starter: Cam Ward gets the start again for Carolina coming off a stellar 40-save shutout of Buffalo last night. (Source)

Washington @ Detroit – 7:30 p.m. ET

Washington’s starter: Michal Neuvirth gets the start tonight giving Braden Holtby a break after last night’s victory. (Source)

Detroit’s starter: Who else but Jimmy Howard in goal for Detroit against the red hot Caps. (Source)

Colorado @ Vancouver – 10 p.m. ET

Colorado’s starter: Brian Elliott gets the start for the Avs as they try to win a game. Period. (Source)

Vancouver’s starter: Cory Schneider gets the start and hopes to lock up the first playoff berth of the season and the division title as well. (Source)

St. Louis @ Anaheim – 10 p.m. ET

St. Louis’ starter: Jaroslav Halak is back and healthy and that means he should get the start.

Anaheim’s starter: We’re figuring on Dan Ellis once again getting the call in goal.
