Sure, the Wild have been having a hard time winning games of late but you can’t hang a lot of that blame on Martin Havlat. Havlat has been on fire of late scoring 16 points in his last 11 games for the Wild. Their record in that time: 4-6-1. Such is life for the Wild, but on this night, a shootout loss to the Flames, Havlat gave Wild fans a reason to get excited.
Midway through the third period, Havlat gained control of the puck in the Flames zone and charged towards the net. Rather than try to powerhouse his way through, Havlat did what he does best: stick handle. Havlat weaves his way past the defense and is able to get Henrik Karlsson down and prone so he can weave past him to stuff the puck home for a goal, a real beauty.
