The Atlanta Thrashers needed that emphatic win over the Washington Capitals, but there was nothing about “need” when it comes to Alex Burmistrov’s goal last night.
Really, the game was long gone at that point. Atlanta already had a 4-0 lead, after all.
Nope, Burmistrov’s goal was all about “want.” The crowd wanted a good show and he put one on for them. (Then again, they did score two goals in 15 seconds, so the rest of the game wasn’t exactly a flat-liner.) And if broadcasters want a neat little ribbon to tie on the evening’s event, they merely need to play this clip to show that the Thrashers dominated that game.
It really is a thing of beauty, so bask in its deke-tastic nature.
