Whether you’re interested for fantasy hockey reasons or just want to know which goalie your team is playing in a given day, we thought it might be helpful to share our best guesses (based on various previews from newspapers and Web sites plus our own instincts) on who might start each day.

7:00 PM ET game

Carolina @ Pittsburgh

Likely Carolina starter: Justin Peters - Sounds like Cam Ward will get a breather after a series of feast or famine starts. (Source: Chip Alexander.)

Likely Pittsburgh starter: Marc-Andre Fleury - The days of Brent Johnson encroaching upon his starting job seem just about over. (Source: Inside Pittsburgh Sports.)

7:30 PM ET games

Washington @ Atlanta

Likely Washington starter: Braden Holtby - The Capitals start a back-to-back set tonight, so that explains why Holtby will probably get a rare start. (Source: Washington Post.)

Likely Atlanta starter: Ondrej Pavelec (Source: Chris Vivlamore.)

Los Angeles @ Buffalo

Likely Los Angeles starter: Jonathan Bernier - It sounds like the “other” Jonathan will start against the Sabres tonight. (Source: Rich Hammond.)

Likely Buffalo starter: Ryan Miller - Even in back-to-back games, it’s reasonable to assume Miller will be in net. (Source: Buffalo News.)

Minnesota @ Detroit

Likely Minnesota starter: Jose Theodore - The Wild face back-to-back games starting tonight, so Theodore will play the first game and Niklas Backstrom will most likely play on Saturday. (Source: Michael Russo.)

Likely Detroit starter: Jimmy Howard - Chris Osgood’s injury + Jimmy Howard’s superior play = eight consecutive starts for Howard. (Source: Ansar Khan.)

8:00 PM ET game

Ottawa @ St. Louis

Likely Ottawa starter: Brian Elliott - He’s played a bunch of games for the Senators and has been blown out twice in a row after winning five in a row, so be careful if you start him. It could be all or nothing for Elliott. (Source for both: Silver Seven Sens.)

Likely St. Louis starter: Ty Conklin - Jaroslav Halak is struggling mightily, so the Blues are letting their solid and steady backup take the reins for a game. (Source for both: Silver Seven Sens.)

Stay tuned for the four late game starters in the late edition, which should be up in less than an hour.
