Today’s Starting Goalies - October 29

Whether you’re interested for fantasy hockey reasons or just want to know which goalie your team is playing in a given day, we thought it might be helpful to share our best guesses (based on various previews from newspapers and Web sites plus our own instincts) on who might start each day.

7:00 PM ET games

Montreal @ NY Islanders

Likely Montreal starter: Alex Auld - It sounds like Carey Price will finally get a breather as solid backup Auld will get a start. (Source: Habs Inside Out.)

Likely NY Islanders starter: Dwayne Roloson - Roloson has played superior hockey so far, so it’s not surprising he’s getting another start. (Source: Lighthouse Hockey.)

Carolina @ NY Rangers

Likely Carolina starter: Cam Ward (Source: Canes Country.)

Likely NY Rangers starter: Henrik Lundqvist - He’s been playing pretty well lately after a slightly sluggish start. (Source: Rangers Rants.)

Philadelphia @ Pittsburgh

Likely Philadelphia starter: Sergei Bobrovsky - It sounds like Bobrovsky will play his third game against the Pittsburgh Penguins tonight. (Source: Broad Street Hockey.)

Likely Pittsburgh starter: Marc-Andre Fleury - Fleury is 1-4 this season and hasn’t played particularly well in any of them while Brent Johnson has been amazingly efficient ... so naturally, the Pens will start Fleury. OK. (Source: Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.)

7:30 pm ET game

Buffalo @ Atlanta

Likely Buffalo starter: Ryan Miller - My best guess is Miller starts tonight.

Likely Atlanta starter: Chris Mason - Again, if Ondrej Pavelec plays this week, it’s most likely Saturday. In the mean time, Mason will start in Atlanta. (Source: Atlanta Journal-Constitution.)

8:30 pm ET game

Edmonton @ Chicago

Likely Edmonton starter: Nikolai Khabibulin - The Oilers will start Khabibulin as usual after giving him a brief break. (Source: Dan Tencer.)

Likely Chicago starter: Marty Turco (Source: Tracey Myers.)

10:00 pm ET game

New Jersey @ Anaheim

Likely New Jersey starter: Martin Brodeur - The Devils aren’t playing very well right now, but Brodeur is still going to get the vast majority of playing time in New Jersey. (Source: In Lou We Trust.)

Likely Anaheim starter: Jonas Hiller - No surprise here, either. (Source: OC Register.)
