Today’s Starting Goalies - October 28

Whether you’re interested for fantasy hockey reasons or just want to know which goalie your team is playing in a given day, we thought it might be helpful to share our best guesses (based on various previews from newspapers and Web sites plus our own instincts) on who might start each day.

7:00 PM ET games

Florida @ Ottawa

Likely Florida starter: Tomas Vokoun (Source: George Richards of On Frozen Pond.)

Likely Ottawa starter: Brian Elliott - Again, as long as Pascal Leclaire is injured, Elliott will be getting almost all of the starts. (Source: Senators Twitter page.)

Edmonton @ Columbus

Likely Edmonton starter: Devan Dubnyk - The Blue Jackets’ odds of bringing their home record to 3-3 keep getting better. (Source: Edmonton Journal.)

Likely Columbus starter: Steve Mason (Source: Blue Jackets Extra.)

Toronto @ Boston

Likely Toronto starter: Jonas Gustavsson - “The Monster” gets another start. It seems like the Maple Leafs has something pretty good going right now. (Source: James Mirtle.)

Likely Boston starter: Tim Thomas - My best guess. The Bruins can be a little coy.

7:30 PM ET game

Phoenix @ Detroit

Likely Phoenix starter: Ilya Bryzgalov (Source: Phoenix Coyotes Web site.)

Likely Detroit starter: Chris Osgood - Jimmy Howard is dealing with back spasms, so expect Osgood to play for a bit. (Source: Winging it in Motown.)

8:00 PM ET games

Washington @ Minnesota

Likely Washington starter: Michal Neuvirth - He gets another start as Semyon Varlamov is on the mend and Neuvirth earned a shutout. (Source for both: Caps Insider.)

Likely Minnesota Wild starter: Niklas Backstrom - Sorry, fans of sports-based drama, no Jose Theodore tonight. At least there’s Martin Havlat though, right? (Source for both: Caps Insider.)

St. Louis @ Nashville

Likely St. Louis starter: Jaroslav Halak (Source for both: On the Forecheck.)

Likely Nashville starter: Pekka Rinne - This is clearly still Rinne’s team. (Source for both: On the Forecheck.)
