Flames hire Hall of Famer Michel Goulet to scouting position

The Calgary Flames dug into the vault of great 1980s hockey names to fill the team’s position as head of western pro scouting. Hockey hall of famer Michel Goulet joins the Flames after spending the last 15 years in the Colorado Avalanche system as an administrator and scout.

Goulet is best remembered as a long-time Quebec Nordiques forward, later finishing his career with the Chicago Blackhawks. Goulet scored 548 goals in his career, amassing 1,152 points over 15 seasons. While Goulet never won the Stanley Cup as a player, he did get his name on the Cup twice as a member of the Avalanche front office in 1996 and 2001.
