The Chicago Blackhawks are headed to Wrigley

Hey, it’s Chicago Blackhawks night here on Pro Hockey Talk. But since they went and won the Stanley Cup, I guess it’s only natural they’ll dominate the headlines for at least 11 days or so.

Expect a big, rousing ovation tomorrow for the Hawks when a number of players and the team will be honored at Wrigley field tomorrow during the Cubs-White Sox game. Per ESPN Chicago:

The Hawks will be recognized on the field at 6:45 in celebration of their Stanley Cup victory. Select Blackhawks will throw out the first pitch and lead the stadium in a rendition of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame.”

How great was this timing? The Blackhawks win the Cup on the same weekend that the Cubs and White Sox play each other.

The good news is that there is no way the Hawks sing “Take me out to the ballgame” any worse than Denise Richards did. Then again, it’s become a bit of a tradition for celebrities to just destroy that song on national television, so frankly I’ll be a bit disappointed if it turns out that Dave Bolland and Brent Sopel can carry a tune.
