Some might forget that – justifiably lost in the Sharks’ heartbreaking Game 3 defeating – Patrick Marleau was nearly a hero by scoring the teams’ two goals.
The reason many will forget that is simple: the Blackhawks won the game in overtime and took a deflating 3-0 series lead. Two of the biggest factors in the series (Dave Bolland and Dustin Byfuglien) might not put up Jonathan Toews-type numbers but each one scored huge goals for Chicago.
First, let’s take a look at the night’s best goal – from a style standpoint – via Bolland’s gorgeous breakaway tally against Evgeni Nabokov.
Naturally, the goal of the night in terms of “impact” was Byfuglien’s overtime game-winner. The budding power forward remains in the right place at the right time all playoffs long … or at least it seems that way. His Blackhawks legend grew quite a bit with this pivotal goal.
