Habs’ #1 priority: Score a goal

Here’s the quote of the day, courtesy of Montreal forward Tomas Plekanec:

“The most important thing is get the lead and see how they react to it,” said Canadiens forward Tomas Plekanec. “We haven’t had the lead yet.”

Getting a lead is certainly important, but actually scoring a goal would be nice.

Except Plekanec is right, in a way, in that getting an early goal would the Habs in the role they’re most comfortable in: protecting a lead while frustrating their opponent. So far, the Flyers have worked that method to perfection against the Canadiens and it certainly seems as if the Habs are far from comfortable when they have to come from behind to win a game.

Going down 2-0 in the series isn’t exactly horrible for this team, as they’ve come from behind twice already to win series against the Capitals and the Penguins, but I doubt we would see two teams in the same year come back from 3-0 in a playoffs series.

The Habs will also be making a few lineup changes, putting in defenseman Ryan O’Byrne and sitting Sergei Kostitsyn and Mathieu Darche.
