Zdeno Chara scores, game tied 2-2

The Buffalo Sabres looked like they could be a serious Stanley Cup threat in the first period. Now they’re looking like a serious threat to fall asleep and lose this one altogether.

Both Ryan Miller and the team in front of him can be given part of the blame for Zdeno Chara’s game-tying goal. Miller allowed a corpulent rebound to go to the tree-sized defenseman, but the Sabres coverage in their zone was lazy to non-existent.

It’s amazing how much of a difference a goal can make, as that shaky first goal really seemed to turn things around for the Bruins. From the obvious observations desk: the next goal is quite huge.
