Here are two stories of note from around the league. Brian Campbell might return for first round
A broken collarbone (and rib to complete the picture) is a pretty serious injury, but Brian Campbell is a hockey player so he soldiers on. TSN reports that the offensive defenseman is starting to skate again and Chris Kuc tweeted that he might even be able to return for the Blackhawks’ first round series against the Nashville Predators. (H/T to Kukla’s Korner for the Twitter link.)
Blues will continue to feel the Payne
(Sorry about that pun, I couldn’t resist.)
Jeff Marek reports that the St. Louis Blues have made Davis Payne their head coach (taking the “interim” out of his title). Here’s a quick tidbit about Payne from the Canadian Press.
Payne, 39, currently the youngest coach in the NHL, guided the Blues to a 23-15-4 record after taking over from Andy Murray.
