2010 NHL playoffs: Sens surprising the Pens in 1st period

When I picked the Senators to beat the Penguins in the first round (one of just two hockey pundits to do so), I based it on a couple of factors.

1) Marc-Andre Fleury has been shaky late in the season.

2) The Penguins have not played consistently the past month.

3) The Senators match up well with the Penguins, especially on defense.

Through 20 minutes, these three points are being played out. Fleury has allowed two goals that were the direct result of poor rebound control, and the Senators beating the Penguins to the puck.

On the other end, the Penguins have mustered just four shots on net. Not exactly the approach Pittsburgh wants to take, especially since Brian Elliott looks shakier than Fleury.

Still a long ways to go in this game and in the series.
