Dan Hamhuis trade update: Well...there is none

Here’s an update on the Dan Hamhuis to Philadelphia trade rumors: he hasn’t been traded yet, and there’s no deal in place. So essentially, we’re in the same boat as before.

Last night, a flurry of activity led many to believe that a deal was close to being made that would send Ryan Parent to Nashville in exchange for Hamhuis, with possibly some other players mixed in.

This morning, there is still no word on that trade other than a deal has not been made. Comcast Sportsnet reporter Tom Panaccio has this quote from GM Paul Holmgren:

Rumblings out of Canada that Hamuis to Flyers deal done but not announced. “Not true at all,” says Flyers GM P. Holmgren this morning.

Of course, there’s no denial that the two teams have been in trade talks but this won’t be an easy transaction to make. The Flyers have limited cap space and a limited amount of players they can trade; nearly half the team has no trade clauses.

Still trying to find out where the “rumblings” are coming from that Panaccio mentions. I have to see anyone say that the deal was done, pending an announcement. We’ll keep you updated.
