An outdoor game can create some unique problems for NHL goalies. Sergei Bobrovsky didn’t have a fantastic time in the 2012 Winter Classic while Henrik Lundqvist reminded us all that, yes, he’s indeed one of the best goalies in the world. Check out Net Cam highlights from the Rangers’ 3-2 win below.

Boston Bruins v Vancouver Canucks - Game Five

Game 5 of the Stanley Cup finals had its share of drama and excitement as Roberto Luongo saved 31 shots in earning his fourth shutout of the playoffs and helped bring the Canucks to within one win of the Stanley Cup as Vancouver beat Boston 1-0.

While the post game featured some of it’s own drama with Luongo being critical of Boston’s Tim Thomas, the game itself provided enough action for fans of both teams. NBC’s star cams were in full effect for Game 5 which means you can catch the action from the Boston point of view or Vancouver point of view however you might prefer.

If you’re more of a goaltending fan, you had plenty to see throughout and you can get the view from behind both Tim Thomas and Roberto Luongo thanks to net cam.

DAVID KREJCI, CHRIS HIGGINS, ROBERTO LUONGO

Going into the 2011 Stanley Cup finals, many expected some great work from two Vezina Trophy finalists. Tim Thomas and Roberto Luongo didn’t disappoint in Game 1, despite playing in a contest that was often wide-open and sloppy.

Luongo earned a 36-save shutout last night, coming up especially big early on in the contest. He stopped 17 shots in the first period, including nine on a four-minute double-minor penalty on Daniel Sedin for high-sticking Zdeno Chara. Luongo didn’t make quite as many highlight reel saves as his unorthodox counterpart, but he still won the game and earned the goose egg.

Thomas was often spectacular in his own right, even if he allowed the game’s only goal. Some might say that Thomas was a bit too aggressive as Jannik Hansen drew him in before passing to Raffi Torres, but his defense ultimately let him down. He plugged up quite a few leaks earlier in the contest, making heart-stopping saves with considerable regularity.

With two great goaltending performances in mind, it only makes sense that we share the Net Cam footage from Game 1. Check out highlights in the video below.

Boston Bruins v Tampa Bay Lightning - Game Four

(Want an in-depth recap of the Tampa Bay Lightning’s impressive comeback from a 3-0 first period deficit to beat the Boston Bruins 5-3 in Game 4? Check out this post, which covers all the bases.)

A lot of people counted out the Lightning once they fell behind 3-0 to start off this afternoon’s Game 4. Some even went as far as to close the book on Tampa Bay’s postseason altogether. Amazingly, many of those same people have been following this year’s playoffs and still assumed that a game could be decided in its first 20 minutes.

This Bolts team won’t quit and the Bruins occasionally struggle with leads (particularly 3-0 ones, many will joke), so the game was far from over. The Lightning bounced back after Dwayne Roloson was yanked in favor of backup Mike Smith while Bruins netminder Tim Thomas struggled in the second period. Ultimately, the Lightning played a great final 40 minutes after suffering some mental lapses in the first 20. Check out Star Cam and Net Cam footage for both teams in the videos below.
