USA Hockey is slated to name Tony Granato as its head coach heading into the 2018 Winter Olympics, according to a variety of reporters including TSN’s Darren Dreger and ESPN’s John Buccigross.
The official announcement looks to come on Friday, as USA Hockey teased as much.
Granato’s assistants will reportedly be Chris Chelios, Scott Young, and Keith Allain. Granato is serving as Wisconsin’s head coach, while he was head coach of the Colorado Avalanche along with an assistant with the Avs, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Detroit Red Wings.
Granato was a name I heard from most sources on OLY coach but few thought he'd be available due to NCAA commitments
