After signing Colin White, their 2015 first-round draft pick, to an amateur tryout contract to get him some AHL experience, the Ottawa Senators have officially signed Colin White to a three-year, entry-level contract. It is expected that White will join the team in Detroit for their game on Monday.

Since signing his ATO to join Binghamton this past week, White scored a goal and added two assists in his first three games with the team. That comes after a highly successful NCAA career at Boston College where he was a better than point-per-game player (76 points in 72 games) in his two years with the program. He scored 16 goals to go with 17 assists this season.

The Senators selected White with the No. 21 overall pick in 2015.

He will be joining a team that is trying to work its way out of a late season slump that has seen them lose four in a row and eight of their past 10. Goal scoring has been a pretty big problem during that stretch as the team has scored just 16 goals in those games.
