The Calgary Flames are looking to extend their current winning streak to 11 games on Wednesday night when they host the surging Boston Bruins.
They will have to extend that winning streak without their starting goalie, Brian Elliott.
Elliott did not take part in the morning skate on Wednesday due to illness, while backup -- and former Bruin -- Chad Johnson will get the start, the team announced.

Elliott has been a key cog for the Flames during the current streak, winning nine of the 10 games with a .943 save percentage. It’s been a great run for Elliott, and a much-needed one after a miserable start to the season. The Flames acquired Elliott from the St. Louis Blues at the NHL draft in the hopes that he could help solidify the position but a tough start to his Flames career saw him lose some playing time to Johnson.
Johnson has started just one game during the winning streak, stopping 36 out of 38 shots in a 4-2 win over the Florida Panthers.
Their current winning streak has solidified the Flames’ position as a playoff team, entering the day tied for second place in the Pacific Division with the Anaheim Ducks.
