After failing to score a goal in 23 games, Derek Stepan finally found the back of the net and discussed what it felt like to finally light the lamp again.

Derek Stepan snapped one of the worst slumps of his professional life on Sunday night, scoring for the first time in 23 games to help the Ranters beat Detroit 4-1.

Afterward, Stepan discussed what he did to get through the drought, including leaning on a former teammate -- Martin St. Louis, who himself experienced a lengthy scoring slump with the Rangers. Upon being traded to New York from Tampa Bay back in 2014, St. Louis went 14 straight games without finding the back of the net.

Of note, Stepan’s goal last night was his 13th of the season. He sits tied with Mats Zuccarello for second in scoring, with 47 points.
