Mumps made a return to the NHL in recent weeks with the Minnesota Wild being one of the teams hit by it.

Among their players sidelined were star forwards Zach Parise and Jason Pominville, each missing the team’s past three games. Good news, though, as they were back on the ice for practice on Saturday and it seems that both could be ready to return to the lineup on Sunday when the team hosts the San Jose Sharks.

Parise said on Saturday that if it is up to him he will play on Sunday.

Pominville said he did not get it as bad because of a booster shot, and added that Saturday was a good practice and he will see how he feels on Sunday.

The Wild won two of the past three games without Parise and Pominville in the lineup to maintain their lead over the Chicago Blackhawks in the NHL’s central Division.

Because of the illness, as well as the Wild’s bye week, neither player has appeared in a game for the team since Feb. 21 against the Blackhawks.

Parise has 14 goals and 14 assists in 50 games for the Wild this season, while Pominville has 38 points (10 goals, 28 assists) in 59 games.
