After missing the past four games due to an upper body injury the Washington Capitals are expected to get forward T.J. Oshie back in the lineup on Saturday night when they host the Philadelphia Flyers.
Oshie last played on Feb. 22 (also against the Flyers), recording a goal and an assist in a 4-1 win. The Capitals have won three of the four games in his absence.
He said on Saturday morning that he should be “good to go” for the game.
When healthy the 30-year-old forward has been having a fantastic season for the Capitals with 43 points (24 goals, 19 assists) in 50 games. That 0.86 point per game average is the best mark of his career and tied with Alex Ovechkin for second best on the team.
The Capitals enter the day with a five-point lead over the Minnesota Wild for the best record in hockey. This will be the first game they have played with both Oshie and Kevin Shattenkirk, following his acquisition from the St. Louis Blues before the NHL trade deadline, in the lineup together.
