Jaroslav Halak’s strong play since being sent to the AHL has reportedly generated trade interest ahead of tomorrow’s deadline.
According to TSN’s Frank Seravalli, the New York Islanders have received two offers for Halak, and a third may be forthcoming.
Halak, 31, is 14-2-1 with a .933 save percentage for Bridgeport. He’s signed through next season for a cap hit of $4.5 million, so the Isles would likely have to eat some salary to facilitate a deal.
Vancouver’s Ryan Miller is another netminder who could be on the move today or tomorrow. The 36-year-old is a pending unrestricted free agent with a cap hit of $6 million.
Miller has a no-trade clause that allows him to be sent to only five teams. However, he told reporters that he’d be willing to listen if the Canucks presented him with an option that wasn’t on his list.
